Kassimir Physical Therapy was founded in 1997 by Gary D. Kassimir, PT, MS, CHT. Gary received his master’s degree in physical therapy from Long Island University in 1987, and earned a specialized certification in hand therapy in 1998.
With extensive experience in outpatient orthopedics, hand rehabilitation, custom splinting, aquatic and sports rehabilitation, Gary's expertise has shaped his professional vision, which he describes as “Ultimate Rehab”. This vision encompasses a comprehensive, thorough, and engaging approach to physical therapy. Gary’s vision is closely followed by all clinical and administrative staff.

Each patient’s first visit to Kassimir Physical Therapy will involve an in-depth initial evaluation performed by one of our physical therapists. The evaluation begins with a detailed history and physical exam, which includes specialized tests and measurements relevant to each patient’s condition. Based on the evaluation, the therapist will develop an individualized treatment plan and establish therapeutic goals based on the needs and the referring provider’s recommendations.

Gary Kassimir, PT, MS, CHT, Cert DN.
Kassimir Physical Therapy was founded by Gary D. Kassimir, PT, MS, CHT, a licensed physical therapist in Maryland, with over 27 years of clinical and administrative experience. Gary graduated from Long Island University in 1987, with BS-MS degrees in Physical Therapy. He has extensive experience in outpatient orthopedics, hand rehabilitation and custom orthosis, and sports rehabilitation. In 1998, Gary became a certified hand therapist (CHT) and retains his certification. Gary is also certified in performing advanced trigger point dry needling techniques.
Jennifer Bachtel, PT, MPT
SENIOR STAFF PHYSICAL THERAPIST
Jen has been a part of the KPT team since July 2002. She earned her master’s degree in physical therapy from Clarkson University in Potsdam, New York after completing a variety of clinical orientations. Jen is an exceptionally versatile therapist and provides physical therapy for students at a local school as well as for our patients at KPT.
Tami Grunitzky, PT, DPT, OCS Cert. DN
CLINICAL SUPERVISOR PHYSICAL THERAPIST
Tami joined our team in July 2009, after a successful final clinical affiliation at KPT. She is a graduate of the University of Maryland at Baltimore where she obtained her DPT, Doctor of Physical Therapy, degree. Tami is also a personal trainer and enjoys spending time working out, teaching aerobics and doing CrossFit. Tami is our Clinical Supervisor, Clinical Coordinator of Continuing Education, and Aquatic Therapy program director. She earned the title Orthopedic Clinical Specialist, OCS, in 2012. Tami is also certified in advanced trigger point dry needling techniques.
Feliks Perl, PTA, BS
STAFF PHYSICAL THERAPIST ASSISTANT
Feliks graduated from Towson University with a bachelor’s degree in exercise science in 2005. He joined KPT in 2010 as a full time Physical Therapy Assistant with two years of experience working with Division 1 athletes in an outpatient physical therapy setting. He enjoys working with all post op repairs and replacements, muscle strains/sprains, and specializes in manual trigger point therapy release. Feliks continuously educates himself on all the latest rehab trends, especially in the strength, conditioning and nutritional aspects. Feliks excels at providing time efficient clinical results in our state of the art rehab facility.
Andrea Kwok, PT, DPT
Andrea joined KPT as a 2016 graduate of the The University of Delaware’s Physical Therapy program, recently ranked #1 in the nation by U.S. News & World Report. Andrea received several months of clinical education at KPT, during which time she impressed us with her skill, knowledge and commitment to patients. We know Andrea is a perfect fit for KPT, and are happy she's joined our team.
Julianne Neal, PT, DPT, OCS
WEEKEND PHYSICAL THERAPIST
Julie graduated from Duke University’s Doctor of Physical Therapy program in 2006, and joined KPT as a Saturday therapist in June of 2011. She works full time as a Women's Health Specialist. Julie is a great asset to KPT, providing the important weekend coverage that allows us to give patients convenient appointment times.
PT Technician Staff
LEAD PT TECHNICIAN
Robyn joined KPT in March 2012 and is currently pursuing her master's degree in health communication from John's Hopkins University. Robyn is our lead technician and trains all of our new technicians and interns.
Noah started at KPT in 2013 as a volunteer. He returned the following year as a part time technician after spending a year in Israel. Noah is currently majoring in athletic training at Towson University.
PT TECHNICIAN/PERSONAL TRAINER
Justin joined the KPT staff in December 2014 after earning his bachelor’s degree in exercise science and physiology from Towson University. Justin also works as a personal trainer for our gym members and as a Crossfit coach at a local gym. Justin holds several certifications, including Crossfit Level 1, Crossfit-Mobility, and Clinical Athlete Weightlifting Coach (CWC).
PT TECHNICIAN/PERSONAL TRAINER
Garrett joined the KPT staff in early August 2016 with a background as a Certified Health Fitness Specialist, ACSM. He earned his bachelor’s degree in exercise science from Salisbury University in 2013. In addition to serving KPT as a technician, Garrett provides personal training to our gym members.
Rose recently graduate from the University of Maryland, College Park with a bachelor’s degree in public health science. She is obtaining her prerequisites to become a Physician’s Assistant from CCBC and Towson University.
Colette has been a part time technician since April 2016. She obtained her B.A. in Geoscience and Violin Performance in 2008 from Franklin and Marshall College. Collette also earned her teaching certification from Towson University in 2013 for Earth and Space Science. Her interests include Crossfit, nutrition and functional movement.
CONTRACT PT TECHNICIAN
After volunteering in the summer of 2016, Samaria had the right stuff to help KPT out for some prn technician work. She is presently taking year off from school after graduation from college in December to pursue physical therapy as a career.
Key Office Personnel
Michelle joined KPT in May 2013, bringing a diverse background in clinical healthcare, administration and leadership. She managed the Shock Trauma Radiology Department for 10 years prior to becoming a certified Human Resources Organizational Development Trainer, specializing in leadership training. In addition, she also assisted her husband in the management of his dental practice.
Payroll and Benefits Coordinator
Claudia joined our team in 2016 as an experienced medical receptionist with prior experience in a physical therapy office. We welcome her expertise in helping KPT run smoothly everyday.
Tanya started at KPT in May 2016 in a much needed role as our first evening receptionist. She previously worked in a chiropractic office for five years doing insurance verifications, authorizations and billing.
